At Home Anniversary

Two slices of Chocolate Cake on a tray, with glasses of peach juice behind the tray on a table. Patio in the background.

We weren't able to go out for our anniversary, because the world was closed.

We took advantage of our beautiful back patio for a nice dinner.

April Flowers!

The global pandemic has us looking for beauty right here at home. Fortunately these azaleas came through.

We are getting by under "stay at home" orders. I go in to the office once a week to deal with matters that require me to be there. Chris and I try to take a walk every day, wearing our masks.

Cherry Tree Walk in the age of COVID-19

A woman and a man standing in front of branches with cherry blossoms

Chris and I have always traveled down to DC to walk around the tidal basin when the cherry trees are in bloom. This year, with COVID-19 restrictions making the Cherry Trees off limits, we took a walk around the cherry tree in our front yard instead. We also had a picnic under the same tree a few days later.

Five Alarm Fire in Fairfax

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, a five story building under construction caught fire and rapidly became fully involved. Myke went in to the fire house at 11am and rode on Engine 413B for the next 30 hours. Engine 413B ran a Hazardous Materials call at a local high school, and then was sent to the scene of the fire for overhaul duty.

New Years Park Day

Back on January first, we took a walk at Greenspring Park.

We are trying to do a "park day" every month to make sure we get out and enjoy the many outdoor spaces available to us.

Heath and Magic

Heath talks to Magician Richard Bloch, who is sitting and holding a deck of cards

Our Grandson Heath is still into Magic.

We took him to a magic show for his birthday in March. The show was at the Mansion on O Street (https://omansion.com/), featuring Richard Bloch.

He also did a magic act in the talent show with his School in April.
