Five Alarm Fire in Fairfax

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, a five story building under construction caught fire and rapidly became fully involved. Myke went in to the fire house at 11am and rode on Engine 413B for the next 30 hours. Engine 413B ran a Hazardous Materials call at a local high school, and then was sent to the scene of the fire for overhaul duty.

Chris took the picture above the following afternoon (February 9) while we were hosing down what remained of a row of townhomes that was next to the fire scene. The townhomes were completely destroyed, we were keeping the remaining rubble pile wet to prevent a rekindle of the fire. This was to protect the row of townhomes right behind the ones that were destroyed.
